The Mayonnaise Jar

4/19/2015

I am not sure where this came from or who wrote it, but it is
important enough to share with you.

The Mayonnaise Jar

When things in your life seem, Almost too much to handle,
When 24 Hours in a day is not enough,
Remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class

And had some items in front of him.
When the class began, wordlessly,
He picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar
And proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students, If the jar was full.
They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured
them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly.
The pebbles rolled into the open Areas between the golf balls.

He then asked The students again
If the jar was full.. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand

And poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else.
He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded
With an unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced Two cups of coffee from under the table
And poured the entire contents Into the jar, effectively
Filling the Empty space between the sand.
The students laughed.

'Now,' said the professor, As the laughter subsided,
'I want you to recognize that This jar represents your life.
The golf balls are the important things - God, family,
children, health, Friends, and Favorite passions

Things that if everything else was lost
And only they remained, Your life would still be full.
The pebbles are the other things that matter Like your job, house, and car
The sand is everything else -- The small stuff.

'If you put the sand into the jar first,' He continued,
'there is no room for The pebbles or the golf balls.
The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time And energy on the small stuff,
You will never have room for The things that are
Important to you.

So...

Pay attention to the things That are critical to your happiness.
Play With your children.
Take time to get medical checkups.

There will always be time
To clean the house and fix the disposal.

'Take care of the golf balls first --
The things that really matter.
Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'

One of the students raised her hand
And inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled.
'I'm glad you asked'.

It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem,
there's always room for A couple of cups of coffee with a friend.'

If You Drive or Ride, You Should Read This!

Travel is not always about getting on a plane or train or bus. Sometimes it involves getting in your own vehicle and driving to your destination. It is so important to have some type of motor club to make sure you get to your destination without too much of a problem.
I choose to have a membership with Motor Club of America or MCA. I had another club in the past. I kept them for several years and one year I had to have five tows in the same year. Needless to say, they cancelled my membership and offered me their lowest plan with few benefits. At first I was upset but then I realized there had to be something out there that would take care of my needs.
When I found MCA, I was so excited, I started marketing the membership to others. I am very satisfied with the service and no matter how many tows I have, I will not be cancelled! The second day I had the membership, it was a major holiday, my daughter locked her only key inside her car. So of course she called me. I went to her place of employment, called MCA and they sent some one out at no charge to me. I was impressed since I did not even have my official card yet! Needless to say, my daughter signed up for the membership soon thereafter.
For only $19.95 a month you get:

Florida Vacation Day 6

4/11/2015

So, who says you can't do two theme parks in one day and live to tell the story? The first half of the day we went to EPCOT (which stands for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow). The second half was spent at Magic Kingdom. The day included lots of walking (I got in almost 16,000 steps), a ferry boat ride, a monorail ride and seeing lots of Disney characters. I would say more about the day, but I am too tired. So I will let photos do the talking.

After such an active day, it was time to rest. Tomorrow is the "drive" day to come back home. What a great time we had. Next year I plan to have a group of families come here to see what the "magic" is all about. If you would like to visit for the first time (or second, or sixth), please make sure you are on our email list and you like our Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/McMillianTravel

Florida Vacation Day 5

Today I was able to spend the day with my brother Hampton. Just the two of us. It was so nice. Since we do not get to see each other often. And then I found out via Facebook that today is National Sibling Day! So, that made the day all the more special.
He even came all the way to Orlando to pick me up. Then we went to the Tampa Bay Jazz Festival. There were food vendors, clothing vendors and more.  Since I enjoy food, I was eager to get some of the food there. I had a gyro that was really, really good.

Then I met Ramon at his booth. His family-owned and operated restaurant, Pipo's, serves the Bay area with traditional Cuban recipes (has been since 1979). If you are in the area and want to visit their cafe, they are located at 9531 Bay Pines Blvd. St. Petersburg FL 33708. Of course you can call your order in at 727-394-7476. They have dine in, take out, delivery and catering. You can even place your order online at http://www.Pipos1979.com
They have a Cuban sandwich that will make you rethink your last 8 decisions! It has pork, ham, mortadella (Italian sausage), salami, pickle and Swiss cheese. Can you say WOW? I also tasted a Papas Rellenas (fried stuffed potato). The food was delish!! So if you are in the area and want some authentic Cuban food, go by Pipo's and tell Ramon the travel agent sent you!

Shopping and Family Day

4/9/2015

Time to slow down the pace! Time to do some shopping and spend time with family. Since this is the only free day we will have, we decided to go shopping and get some lunch. We went back to Boardwalk Brothers for lunch. We also took more time to explore the flea market and go to a couple of gift shops. After a few hours of shopping, we went back and talked with some of our relatives who now live in the area. We spent the rest of the evening catching up, laughing and eating.
Tomorrow is going to be a long day. First, it's Disney, then I have to leave and go to the Tampa Blues Festival. Of course, I am excited about that and will be taking a lot of photos.
Time for bed, more tomorrow.

Florida Vacation Day 3

What a day we had today! So, like I said, we spent last night at my brother's house in Tampa so we could get the day started early.
We got up and, after breakfast, we headed to Clearwater Beach for a couple of hours in the sun. The kids had a blast at the beach.

After our beach trip we went back to Hampton's place and he grilled steaks, hot dogs, hamburgers, sausages and made jerk chicken for us. At the end of the day, there is nothing like family.
